It can cause you to have a greater risk of cracks and chips, as well as discoloration. Rinse your mouth out with water and then wait 40 minutes or so to brush. This way, the calcium in your saliva will have a chance to remineralize the areas that were weakened.

3. You Microwave Your Food in a Plastic Container at Lunchtime

Using a plastic container for lunchtime at work is not the best idea. In fact, the phthalates can heat up and leach into your food, potentially causing an alteration in your hormones or damaging sperm, according to Dr. Germaine Buck Louis, who is the director at the National Institutes of Health. Using plastic that does not contain BPA, or using glass containers, is an ideal option for when you need to microwave your lunch. You also can bring a pre-heated lunch with you in a thermos to keep it warm.

4. Driving After Happy Hour

A UC San Diego study on drunk driving claims that low BAC (blood alcohol content) levels can be dangerous for people who are driving. Individuals who drive while they have a BAC level of even .01 have a 46 percent higher chance of crashing their vehicle than someone who is driving sober. Aaron White, Ph.D. of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism states that eating beforehand can lower one’s BAC by 30 percent.

5. Checking Your Work Email Before Going to Sleep
