Ocean County Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu owner Tom DeBlass is a world-class human being. Not only has he helped create grappling legends like Garry Tonon, but he is just a really nice guy.

Case in point: an 18-year-old high school graduate recently wrote to him saying that he would pay him $1000 for a private BJJ lesson. The graduate explained that the $1000 was his graduate money and what he had been saving.

Professor DeBlass was so moved by the kid’s offer that he said he would give the kid a private lesson — for free!

Can you imagine? This 18 year old kid has been saving his money and is willing to give me $1,000 just to take a private. Just because he approached me this way I’ll give him a free private and have him save his money. This kid is amazing.
