Mike Perry Definitely Needed Nose Surgery After UFC Uruguay

722

In news that shocked literally no one, fighter Mike Perry underwent surgery today in Uruguay for one of the most broken noses we’ve ever seen come out of the professional cage. Perry was hospitalized last night following his losing matchup against Vicente Luque, who crushed Perry’s nose with a flying knee before winning by decision.

Following the loss, Dana White tweeted out a photo which immediately went viral and did little to dispel concerns about head trauma in mixed martial arts:

Despite the cubist editing of Perry’s face, the fighters wife confirmed to MMA Fighting that her husband’s surgery lasted only an hour. He’ll only need an extra day or so of recovery before departing Uruguay as planned.

Perry and Luque were compensated for their considerable showing, in the form of $50,000.00 each in post-fight bonuses for the performance.
