Sonnen Versus Barnett Set For 2015 Metamoris

Chael Sonnen has officially decided to come out of retirement to compete in Metamoris later in 2015. The former middleweight UFC contender recently spoke to Submission Radio, and said that his opponent will be seasoned grappler Josh Barnett. Although it is fairly common for active UFC athletes like Barnett to feature in Metamoris events, he will need to prepare for this later – because first he is due to compete in the Japanese UFC Fight Night 75. Sonnen remains bullish about the likely outcome, when he faces the ‘The Warmaster’, however their respective records in Metamoris contests paints a different picture. Barnett is 2-0 at Metamoris, whereas Sonnen has only managed a loss and a draw. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine that ‘The American Gangster’s’ confidence will be justified, particularly after a lengthy lay off.

  1. As a wrestler before Bjj practitioner I have to say this is a horrible match up. Where are the Judo, Sambo and Luta Iivre practitioners? It’s seems Metamoris is drunk off its new found fame. MMA is great but what about the many other great grappling practitioners?
