The Catch Wrestler’s Ankle Lock

Often, when standing in the opened guard, we often find the ankle lock is readily available. However, a standing ankle lock is near impossible to perform, because our opponent can easily spin their leg and escape.

Today, Big Guy BJJ¬†gives us an option on finishing the straight ankle lock while standing. It’s a method to counter when an opponent spins their body to escape the ankle lock. It’s tournament legal and does not require you to reap the knee.
