Anytime your gym experiences an influx of new white belts, it draws attention back to basic fundamentals that you sometimes take for granted as your start refining your game as a colored belt. It’s way more fun to learn the variations and sweeps from De La Riva, but when was the last time you really drilled your mount escapes?
The escapes I know now seem like common sense, but we’ve had a lot of new white belts coming and apparently, it’s not so common sense. I’ve taken for granted these steps were taught to me. When rolling their first couple of classes, the new students are obviously going to find themselves mounted pretty frequently. This video is for you!
