Tyron Woodley, the UFC’s current welterweight champion, will face Stephen Thompson for the second time on March 4 in Las Vegas at UFC 209.
Woodley himself confirmed this on Monday by announcing the bout on his well-known podcast. This was following a spat with Thompson on social media during the weekend.
When these two men fought for the first time in New York at UFC 205, the fight was declared a draw after five rounds. In addition, it won the prestigious ‘Fight of the Night’ award. UFC President Dana White said afterwards that a rematch should be made to determine the winner.
Thompson believes that he will emerge victorious this time around, claiming that he was not one-hundred percent fit for the first bout.
