Boxing Phenom Claressa Shields To Make MMA Debut With The PFL On June 10

Olympic gold medalist boxer Claressa Shields officially has a date for her professional MMA debut, and we’ll be seeing her test herself in the PFL on June 10.

The news first came from an interview on Good Morning America.

Shields’ opponent hasn’t been announced yet. Her fight structure will be one-off bouts, and at least for now, she won’t be competing in the PFL’s tournaments.

Shields signed with the PFL near the end of 2020, expanding upon a career that saw her simultaneously hold titles in the WBC, WBA, IBF, and IBO. She’s widely considered to be the best pound-for-pound female boxer and has recently spoken about her jiu-jitsu journey as she’s transitioned to MMA.
