Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm is getting back into the action in under two months.
Holm will be facing fellow contender Irene Aldana in the main event of a UFC card set to take place on August 1. The company hasn’t yet officially announced a name or location for the event, but it’s likely to be a UFC Fight Night taking place in Las Vegas. ESPN was the first to report the news, which hasn’t yet been officially announced by the UFC.
Holm last fought in January, where she won a unanimous decision against Raquel Pennington. She only fought once in 2019, losing a title shot to current champ Amanda Nunes.
Aldana went 3-1 last year, losing only to Pennington in July. Her last fight, which took place in December, resulted in a KO victory against Ketlen Vieira, who was previously undefeated.
UPDATE: This fight has been moved to October 3 following a positive COVID-19 test from Aldana.
