Rafa and Gui Mendes have announced that they will no longer be representing the Atos affiliation beginning this year.
The Mendes brothers, who lead the Art of Jiu-Jitsu (AOJ) team, announced the departure on Instagram. They kept details sparse, saying only “Beginning in 2020 we will not represent any team or association.”
Rumors of an impending division between Atos and AOJ have been circulating for a while now, and AOJ didn’t represent Atos at Euros this year. However, there hasn’t been any hard evidence of animosity between the Mendes brothers and the Galvaos, and the split is presumed to be amicable.
